			I am an art college graduate turned educator/author, involved with elementary education for the past 14 years. I primarily use visual arts to build language and esteem with at-risk children, earning 3 awards for my innovative efforts. My first children’s book, a kid’s regional guidebook to South Florida called Fun in the Sun, was published in 1996 by Valiant Press, Miami. A second kid’s guidebook came out last spring and this time my co-authors were a dozen 4th-grade writing students (what an adventure that was!). I recently finished my second book & puppet; this one focuses on the mean/kindness ‘thing’ that mysteriously starts with many girls in the 2nd and 3rd grades
	Raised in Long Island, NY, educated at Toronto's Ontario College of Art, she has lived and worked with all different kinds of kids in Canada, to the border children of El Paso, and in San Antonio, Winston-Salem, Fort Lauderdale and now for nearly a decade in Indian River County...a region with explosive growth and plenty of special needs.
